December 24 – 28 – CLOSED
December 29 – January 2nd – open for brunch only 10am – 3pm
January 3rd + 4th – CLOSED
January 5 – Back to business as usual. Thursday and Friday dinners are back!
Pastry orders: Pastry orders will not be available between December 24th – December 28th. If you wish to place an order during that time for December 29th – January 2nd, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org along with the size of the treat box you wish to order, you name and contact number.

As I looked out the window this week and saw snow, I realized that the holidays are right around the corner. Although the snow only lasted for about 1 1/2 minutes, it made its point.
With that being said, we are going to be changing our hours for winter, we will be closed on Mondays & Tuesdays, and our weekday hours will be changing to 10:00-3:30. But do not worry, as we will be opening for dinner on Thursdays and Fridays starting next week. Although we are not licensed at the moment, we are offering a tasty prix-fix at $35 for three awesome courses. So have a holiday beverage at home, then come on out for a delicious dinner with happy meat from Sausage Partners.
With the holiday season approaching, we are doing some tasty holiday treats. So if you like having baked goods, but don’t enjoy doing it yourself, we are here to help. Give us a call and let hammersmith’s take care of your baking for you. 416.792.9043.

Well we are getting into winter and I realize it has been sometime since my last blog. But with reason! We have a shinny new website for Hammersmith’s now thanks to Justin Adam featuring lovely illustrations by Ani Castillo. Our website includes our menu board which is updated daily.

We’d also like to mention that our butcher Sausage Partners is now open for business to the public. Make sure to check them out at greenwood and queen and pick up some tasty meats and preserves!
So obviously those of you who have been checking this blog must realize that we are the worst bloggers ever. In truth, leading up to opening had been a little hectic as you can imagine. But we made it!
We are now at our two week mark and although we are still getting a feel for the neighbourhood, we are open 9-4 weekdays and 9:30-4 weekends. Closed Tuesdays.
It is definitely a big change for people who knew the space as a diner but the response has been amazing. We started off with four dishes a one side and we are currently up to 5 dishes and 3 sides. Some of my favorites that we have run on the menu ontario asparagus, eggs and miso butter and on our current menu cured salmon, sweet pea, fennel & pinenut and of course our staple, steak and eggs.
This Saturday was our biggest day yet with 62 people coming out to support us! So thank you all for popping in for a bite.

I am pretty pumped to say that we should be getting our logo and window decal in the next few days. As much as I dig the original ‘restaurant’ decal lettering in our window, unfortunately it has to go due to the condition of the paint. However with the help of our super awesome graphic designer Justin Adam, we have a beautiful new face on the way.
We have definitely had our work cut out for us bringing life back to this 50’s diner and turning into something that suits us and the changing neighbourhood, but we are getting there. One thing that we aren’t making changes to is the diner line. Everything is out in the open, no front of house/ back of house… just great food.
